My son and I have been taking voice lessons from Marcus for over a year now. He is a wonderful teacher. I have taken voice lessons in the past and felt like I was just throwing my money away with very little improvements. I knew after my first lesson with Marcus that his lessons would be very different. I immediately started seeing improvements with range, support, relaxation, tone, performance, etc. He is able to quickly zero in on exactly what you need to work on. Also, he is a wizard on the piano. He can hear a song once and play it as if he’s been playing it for years. While other teachers are spending most of their focus picking out the notes they need to play to accompany you, he is able to really focus on what you are doing. This is a huge plus, and I bet he’s a blast to have at a party. Marcus is also a working stage performer which has been very helpful for my son who is just getting started as a performer. He has given him invaluable advice for auditions, resume, and backstage tips. Marcus’ attitude and positivity is a breath of fresh air. We both look forward to our lessons every week.

My skillset in singing and confidence has increased. Since lessons with Marcus, I've been in two singing performances. He helps coach me on what scares me... now I have more strength, power, volume, and texture choices. I can make more natural and playful facial expressions when I sing. My same folks who hear me now don't just say 'wow', they look stunned at me, saying "whoaaaa. Lynn. Woww." I feel I am now in charge of my vocal choices... my fear decreases.
